Dental clinics depend on dental laboratories for fast and reliable production of dental prostheses. Coordinating technicians, departments, and workflows—while keeping clinics informed about order progress—can be challenging.
This project streamlines clinic–lab collaboration through smarter scheduling, optimized production, and real-time updates.
Laboratory workflows are complex and constantly changing, and no solution existed to manage them efficiently. The main challenge was to streamline order creation and tracking while providing accurate, real-time completion estimates.
The system also needed to consider staff availability, workload, and priority cases. Doctors previously had little visibility into resources, making it hard to plan orders and avoid overloading staff, especially with 80% of resources constantly in use and 20% reserved for urgent tasks.
We designed a system that optimizes lab production by intelligently scheduling tasks based on technician availability and operating capacity. By keeping workloads below full utilization, the system can accommodate urgent orders without disrupting ongoing work, ensuring realistic timelines for all cases.
Clinics are fully integrated into the workflow, with real-time visibility of order progress.
To streamline collaboration, the platform includes an internal communication channel, allowing labs and clinics to exchange updates, requests, and clarifications directly within the system. This centralizes communication, reduces delays, and keeps all stakeholders aligned.
The system improves transparency, efficiency, and workload management in the lab. Doctors can plan ahead with reliable information, technicians have balanced workloads, and urgent cases are handled smoothly.
With smart estimations, live updates, and automated scheduling, the lab achieved better productivity, resource use, and team coordination.
